The Stooges – The groundbreaking debut album now available on 180g vinyl. Pre-order

Few albums have shaped rock history as profoundly as The Stooges ' self-titled 1969 debut. Released at the same time as Woodstock , the record was considered raw, loud, and provocative – critics like Rolling Stone called it "tasteless and childish." Yet decades later, the album was included in a list of the 500 greatest albums of all time – proof that The Stooges were far ahead of their time and decisively influenced the sound of the later punk movement .

Songs like "I Wanna Be Your Dog" and "No Fun" remain legendary to this day – raw, hypnotic, and uncompromising. Iggy Pop , Ron and Scott Asheton , and Dave Alexander created a sound with minimal means that radiates pure energy and perfectly captures the spirit of Detroit rock .

To celebrate Elektra Records' 75th anniversary, "The Stooges" is now being released as a limited 180g vinyl reissue by MoFi (Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab) – remastered from the original tapes and pressed at 45 rpm . The result: maximum dynamics, vibrant detail, and authentic garage rock sound in audiophile quality – an absolute must-have for vinyl lovers and fans of Iggy Pop and proto-punk .
