Origin Live Gravity Two Plates Weight

Vibrations are the natural enemy of analog playback – every vinyl enthusiast should know this by now. Reflected sound, footfall, motors, power supplies, etc., all cause unwanted vibrations to affect the turntable and spindle, which are then transmitted to the rotating record. The cartridge is forced to pick up the signal on "rough waters" instead of gliding smoothly through the grooves. Therefore, record clamps, stabilizers, and record weights are developed. These clamps use pressure to fix the record flat on the platter, improving contact between the record and the platter or mat, and thus reducing vibrations and resonances. Depending on the design and material, such analog accessories offer various advantages – but often also disadvantages. Mark Baker, head and founder of Origin Live, has naturally addressed the problem of sound-degrading platter vibrations and developed "Gravity Two," a solution for audiophiles who demand uncompromising sound quality.

Mark Baker didn't find the solution overnight: For over 25 years, he experimented with designs that would fix the record to the turntable without producing unwanted sonic effects. In 2020, the time had finally come: Origin Live presented "Gravity One"—a record holder that highly effectively reduced vibrations during playback, resulting in a clearly audible improvement in sound. Weighing only 67 grams, the "Gravity One" worked well with all types of turntables and became a staple in Sieveking Sound's accessory catalog. But anyone who knows Mark Baker knows that this gifted developer never rests on his laurels and is always searching for ways to improve. This ultimately led to the proven concept of the "Gravity One" being put to the test. The result was a new development: "Gravity Two"! It retains the feather-light design of its predecessor but enhances its sonic advantages. The “Gravity Two” can thus match the deeper, more controlled bass reproduction of heavier record weights – without sacrificing the richness of detail in the midrange or the openness in the treble, as is often the case with heavier record weights. Instruments and voices are precisely positioned against a silent, black background, eliminating the sonic “inaccuracies” of lighter record weights. The “sharpness” and “brightness” sometimes perceived in music are often not characteristics of the recording itself, but rather accompanying effects of unwanted resonances. The “Gravity Two” reduces these resonances, allowing voices to flow with natural warmth and giving each note substance and body.

The "Gravity Two" uses a harmonious mix of materials including wood, metals, composites, and polymers: The outer shell is made of a special, anti-resonant polymer, distinct from Delrin and chosen for its excellent damping properties. Structural ribs increase rigidity, while lightweight metal elements effectively dissipate vibrational energy. Each material has been carefully tested and tuned to enhance performance. The "Gravity Two" is a record weight that isn't really a record weight at all: It's a unique record insert that helps your turntable reach a new level of clarity, focus, and musicality!

Safety instructions

Electronic devices:
1. General Use: • Electronic devices are designed for use in enclosed, dry rooms only. Direct sunlight, moisture, and extreme temperatures may impair function. • Avoid proximity to water sources or other liquids. 2. Electrical Safety: • Use only with the specified power source (e.g., 220-240 V AC). An incorrect power source may damage the device or be hazardous. • Never connect the device to overloaded outlets or extension cords. • If there is any visible damage to the power cord or other components, do not operate the device. 3. Operation and Ventilation: • Place the device on a stable, flat surface. Do not block any ventilation slots to prevent overheating. • Ensure sufficient distance from other devices or walls (at least 10 cm) to ensure optimal ventilation. 4. Children and Pets: • Keep the device away from children and pets, especially small parts that could be swallowed.
Speakers:
1. Setup: • Place speakers on a stable and secure surface or use suitable speaker stands. Tipping over may cause injury or damage. • Position speakers so they are not obstructed and optimal sound dispersion is ensured. 2. Environmental Conditions: • Speakers are intended for use in dry, enclosed spaces. Avoid moisture and direct sunlight, which could damage materials or electronics. 3. Connections: • Use only compatible amplifiers and cables that meet the speaker's technical specifications. • Avoid incorrect polarity connections to prevent damage to the speaker or amplifier. 4. Children and Pets: • Speakers are not toys. Make sure they are placed out of reach of children and pets. 5. Care: • Clean the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use chemical cleaners or water.
Cable:
1. Use: • Cables are for their intended use only. Use them only with devices that meet the cable's technical specifications. • Ensure that all connections are secure and tight for optimum performance. 2. Handling: • Never pull on the cable to remove it from a device. Always hold the plug firmly. • Do not bend, overstretch, or place excessive strain on the cable. Cables should not run under heavy objects. 3. Children and Pets: • Keep cables away from children and pets as they can be a strangulation or injury hazard. 4. Inspection: • Check cables regularly for visible damage such as breaks, cracks, or frayed ends. Damaged cables must be replaced immediately.
Accesories:
1. Use: • Accessories such as adapters, mounts or cleaning utensils must only be used for their intended purpose. Incorrect use can cause damage. 2. Care: • Clean accessories only according to the manufacturer's instructions. Avoid harsh cleaning agents or use in damp environments. 3. Safety: • Ensure accessories are correctly fitted or connected to prevent accidents or malfunctions. 4. Children and pets: • Accessories, especially small parts, pose a choking hazard and should be kept out of reach of children and pets.
