We think

The Luxman E-07 is a phenomenal phono preamplifier that brings out the best in vinyl without resorting to technical overkill. With its high quality , flexibility , and sonic fidelity , it demonstrates what analog listening can achieve today— sensitive , clear , and emotional at the same time. For listeners who use different cartridge systems , operate multiple turntables , or simply value maximum control over sound parameters, the E-07 sets a benchmark.

Product presentation

The Luxman E-07 is a solid-state phono equalizer preamplifier suitable for MM and MC cartridges . Its slim design , measuring just 9 cm tall, perfectly complements the Luxman Z series . Three inputs are available for MC systems : one balanced (XLR) and two unbalanced (RCA) . Two RCA inputs are available for MM cartridges . This allows the E-07 to operate multiple turntables and cartridges in parallel.

At the heart of the system are newly developed step-up transformers with a super-permalloy core , separate for each channel and with different gain settings that optimally match the selected impedance .

Special features

Switchable load impedances for MC cartridges are located directly on the front panel: 4.7 / 10 / 40 / 100 / 300 / 1 kΩ . For MM cartridges, various capacitances of 0 / 100 / 220 / 320 pF can be selected on the rear panel.

Triple transformer power supply : one transformer each for the left and right audio channels , plus a separate one for display, relay and control .

Vibration-optimized housing with double floor , solid chassis and high-quality feet to minimize resonances and noise .

Articulator function for demagnetizing pickups , low-cut switch to reduce impact noise , mono mode and phase inversion for maximum adaptability.

Technology & Materials

The input stage uses four parallel FETs per channel , minimizing noise and maximizing signal purity .

The RIAA equalization is highly precise, with only ±0.1 dB deviation for MM and ±0.3 dB for MC between 20 Hz – 20 kHz .

The internal wiring uses high-purity copper with shielding to prevent signal loss .

The input sensitivity is 3.2 mV for MM and only 0.12 mV in MC-Low mode , which means that even low-power MC systems can be operated perfectly.

Sustainability & Manufacturing

The E-07 is manufactured in Japan and stands for precision , durability , and longevity . Its solid housing , robust components , and service-friendly construction make it a lifetime investment . Luxman guarantees spare parts availability and ease of maintenance , which clearly distinguishes the E-07 from short-lived mainstream products.

Test reports / press reviews

The German magazine lite-Magazin writes in its test “Luxman E-07 – Phono preamplifier at its finest”:

"The Luxman E-07 presents itself as an absolutely worthy anniversary preamplifier : This phono preamp showcases everything that defines the Japanese high-end manufacturer . It impresses with its elegant design , genuine hi-fi flair , and excellent material and manufacturing quality . It impresses acoustically thanks to its sophisticated amplifier construction , extreme low noise , and outstanding purity . In playback, it shines with magnificent clarity , superb resolution , a high level of detail —and an overall harmonious performance . The E-07 also makes everything possible : thanks to its extensive capacitance and impedance adjustments , even exotic pickup systems can be operated."

Background / History / Development

Developed to celebrate the 100th anniversary, the Luxman E-07 is the new reference phono preamplifier in the Luxman range. The goal was to combine the highest sound quality with flexible adaptability . The dual-mono construction , the newly developed step-up transformers , and the optimized chassis design are expressions of a consistent further development of the Luxman tradition.

Basic knowledge

Non-Feedback circuit: An equalizer preamplifier without classic negative feedback, for a more natural sound and faster transients .

Step-up transformer: Amplifies the extremely weak signals of MC systems to a usable level. The super permalloy cores ensure maximum signal purity.

Load impedance and capacitance matching: Crucial for optimal pickup matching . If these values are incorrect, treble loss , coloration, or distortion can occur. The E-07 offers one of the most comprehensive adjustment options on the market.

Safety instructions

Electronic devices:
1. General Use: • Electronic devices are designed for use in enclosed, dry rooms only. Direct sunlight, moisture, and extreme temperatures may impair function. • Avoid proximity to water sources or other liquids. 2. Electrical Safety: • Use only with the specified power source (e.g., 220-240 V AC). An incorrect power source may damage the device or be hazardous. • Never connect the device to overloaded outlets or extension cords. • If there is any visible damage to the power cord or other components, do not operate the device. 3. Operation and Ventilation: • Place the device on a stable, flat surface. Do not block any ventilation slots to prevent overheating. • Ensure sufficient distance from other devices or walls (at least 10 cm) to ensure optimal ventilation. 4. Children and Pets: • Keep the device away from children and pets, especially small parts that could be swallowed.
Speakers:
1. Setup: • Place speakers on a stable and secure surface or use suitable speaker stands. Tipping over may cause injury or damage. • Position speakers so they are not obstructed and optimal sound dispersion is ensured. 2. Environmental Conditions: • Speakers are intended for use in dry, enclosed spaces. Avoid moisture and direct sunlight, which could damage materials or electronics. 3. Connections: • Use only compatible amplifiers and cables that meet the speaker's technical specifications. • Avoid incorrect polarity connections to prevent damage to the speaker or amplifier. 4. Children and Pets: • Speakers are not toys. Make sure they are placed out of reach of children and pets. 5. Care: • Clean the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use chemical cleaners or water.
Cable:
1. Use: • Cables are for their intended use only. Use them only with devices that meet the cable's technical specifications. • Ensure that all connections are secure and tight for optimum performance. 2. Handling: • Never pull on the cable to remove it from a device. Always hold the plug firmly. • Do not bend, overstretch, or place excessive strain on the cable. Cables should not run under heavy objects. 3. Children and Pets: • Keep cables away from children and pets as they can be a strangulation or injury hazard. 4. Inspection: • Check cables regularly for visible damage such as breaks, cracks, or frayed ends. Damaged cables must be replaced immediately.
