Mit „Holiday In Brazil“, auch bekannt als „Brazilliance Vol. 2“, präsentieren der brasilianische Gitarrenvirtuose Laurindo Almeida und der amerikanische Saxophonist und Flötist Bud Shank eine der wegweisenden Aufnahmen der Jazzgeschichte. Das 1958 eingespielte Album verbindet amerikanischen West-Coast-Jazz mit brasilianischen Rhythmen und gilt als früher Vorläufer der später weltweit erfolgreichen Bossa-Nova-Bewegung.
Nachdem bereits „Brazilliance Vol. 1“ Maßstäbe gesetzt hatte, vertieft das Duo auf dieser Aufnahme die einzigartige Verbindung von Samba, Cool Jazz und improvisatorischer Freiheit.
